HOW TO ORDER
How to buy
The shopping basket
When you find a book you want to buy, click on 'Buy this title'. This will take you to a screen showing the books you have placed in the shopping basket
You can view the books you have placed in the shopping basket at any time and change the quantity or delete any that you don't want to buy.
If you want to buy some more books, click on one of the bookshops at the top of the page and choose from the drop-down menu. Once you have put in all the books you want to buy and completed any adjustments you wish to make, click 'Confirm changes to basket'. Now you are ready to buy.
Click on 'Continue with Order'. If this is your first time of ordering on line with us we will need to set up an account for you and you are asked to fill several details in a series of boxes. However, after the first time you do this, the system will remember your details and you will not need to fill them in again.
Towards the end of the page it says 'Enter Shipping details' where you will need to select how you want your order sent from the drop-down menu. There are different charges for each option, which you can check at Postage and Packing charges. At this stage you may also enter a different delivery address if you wish.
Once you're sure you've filled in everything correctly, click on 'Continue' This will take you to the Final Check screen, which shows you where the books will be delivered to, your payment method, and the total value of your order, including postage and packing. If you're happy with the details displayed on this page, click on 'Place the order and charge as shown' This is the point at which the order goes through and this is confirmed by the next page you see. You will also receive an email confirmation, usually within the next few hours.
After the first time...
The order process gets much easier after the first time. You will only need to log in with your email and your password (which If you can't remember, click on 'Email me my password' and it will be sent to you). When you reach the Order page, all your details will be showing in the relevant boxes.
The only thing you have to do is select a mailing option for that particular order, click 'Continue', check the delivery address, payment method and total (including postage) and if all's well, click 'Place the order and charge as shown'.
How does my account work?
Once you have set up an account by ordering a book, your account details will be kept securely on our system, and they are accessible to you (and you only) at any time. All you need to do is click on 'Your Account', and then log in by entering your email address and password. When you get into the Account Page, you can edit any of the details in your account. When you're happy with the changes you've made, click on 'Confirm my Account Details'.
Availability
If a book is not available for whatever reason - it's out of stock at the publisher's warehouse, or it's reprinting , or not yet published, for example, we will notify you.
Please Note: We do not charge your credit or debit card until the actual point of dispatch. So, if there is any change in the cost of your order, we will not process it until we have received your confirmation that you want us to proceed.
Can books be returned?
Hopefully you will be pleased with the books you order from us. However occasionally a book may not be exactly what you hoped. You can return any book ordered within 30 days of purchase so long as it is in its original resaleable condition.

Similarly if you receive a book that is damaged or is a faulty copy, we will be happy to replace it, but please contact us as above.
Our Discount Policy
Each bookshop has a Special Offers Page where you will find selected books discounted by up to 25%. We offer a changing range of discounts and special offers. All offers and prices shown are valid for the duration needed to complete your purchase. Institutions who wish to place bulk orders should contact us by email at bookmail@eddington-hook.co.uk or telephone on +44(0)1892 836658 of fax +44 (0) 1892 838358 for a quotation.
What happens if the displayed price is incorrect?
The price information on our database is tracked extremely closely. It is gathered from hundreds of different sources and updated every day. However, with so many different publications there will be the odd occasion when the price displayed is wrong. In these cases, we undertake to do the following:
* If the publication's correct price is lower than the one we displayed, we will charge you the lower price and send your order without delay.
* If the publication's correct price is higher than the one we displayed, we will despatch your order as normal if the increase is within the following guidelines:
£1.00 - £10.99 price increase up to 20%
£11.00 - £19.99 price increase up to 15%
£20 and over price increase up to 10%
But if it is above these amounts we will contact you by email and will only despatch your order once you have confirmed that you wish to receive it.
What are my payment options?
We accept payment by the following credit and debit cards:

As well as card type, you will need to fill in your card number, name and address of the card holder, expiry date, and if you have one, start date or issue number. (NOTE: SWITCH cards normally have an issue number. If yours doesn't, don't worry, simply leave this field blank and fill in the start date instead).
